Mobile Phone

Handheld or mobile phone is an electronic telecommunications device that has the same basic capabilities with conventional fixed-line telephone, but can be brought everywhere (portable, mobile) and need not be connected to the telephone network using a wired (wireless; wireless).

Below is the parts of the phone and its functions:

A).       Microphone. This section is used to capture data in the form of sound which is analogous to the mode data.

B).       Speaker. Can be termed as an output device that will produce sound. These speakers can also be used for remote monitoring on mobile phones.

C).       Keypad. An input device to access the mobile phone. Access can be a calling, navigation games, sending sms, and others.

D).       LCD Display. An output device that displays function calls, phone information, signals, telecommunications network information, pictures, and others.

E).       Batteries and Monitoring. When a battery is mounted on a mobile phone, mobile phone has a default capacity (congenital) is called battery processing that is used to check the current level of charge while charging the battery. This will indicate the status of beginning to end. This monitoring can be viewed on the LCD display.

F).        LEDs. Stands for Light Emiting Diode, a similar marker lights showing the status information. The color of this marker depends on the brand used phone.

G).       CODEC. Short for compressor / decompressor, a sound processor that works in tandem with the compression technique perfectly.

H).       DSP. Stands for Digital Signal Processor, is the main component that serves to coordinate voice, SMS and data transmission features. This chipset will make the process of handling voice activity detection, set the transmission, and reception of GSM. Amplifier is another part serves include signals sent from the microphone. Micophone voice signal (for example in the GSM network) in the form of analog signals to be converted to digital.

I).        SIM Card Reader. Subscriber information contained in the SIM chip will be read by a SIM card reader and transmitted digitally to the network via an antenna or RF unit at the time we put the SIM card into the phone. This route will also be used when going to call certain numbers. Figures / the input data is digitally transferred to the network for processing.

J).        RF Unit. CODEC chipset will automatically transfer the information that has been compressed into a radio frequency (RF). Essentially, the unit serves as an RF transmitter (transmitter) and receiver (receiver) in a cell phone, then send the voice data, and data information via mobile phone antenna with air as the transmission medium to the nearest base station. The process then towards the ultimate goal of destination of calls made. The flow direction of the voice data having the same route. The first is done is through a process of compression to expansion in the form of analog voice to be heard in the speaker. Conversion into the form of analog or digital voice or the reverse is done through CODEC with high speed, so the delay (lag time) between when you speak to be heard by the other person or otherwise does not feel like going.

K).       External Connector. Outer most connectors located on the underside of the phone, called the external connector system. Can be used to install the adapter data / fax, battery charger, hands free personalized tools, speakers, etc., adapted to the width of the connector ports.

L).       Antenna System. Cellular phone antenna can be found outside as well as in mobile phones, which typically specify this vendor.
M).      On-Board Memory. Some phones have a memory chip with the capacity provided onboard to store phone numbers or cell phone, text, or images, both incoming and outgoing. Some brands of memory onboard air-mobile has the ability to perform memory copying between SIM card and mobile phone internal memory.
